Stay With Us

Students of the computer science hung a poster between the MPI Informatik and the computer science faculty that says "Stay With Us Prof. Backes".
Michael Backes is one of Germany's youngest professors. He has the chair for Information Security and Cryptography at the Computer Science Department of Saarland University.

For reasons I don't even want to know he wore a skirt while jumping on a snowboard in summerly temperatures... =)

I was happy to take a glimpse (and my camera) into a storage room of C&A today. This was one of the moments that made me realise again how important it is to take my camera EVERYWHERE!

Clouds

ICE Concert

The ICE arrived in Saarbrücken today, and had its first official ride to Paris.
For this occasion, Saarbrücken invited Patricia Kaas, Nena and Roger Cicero to give free concerts here. A lot of people attended at the stage that was set up in Bahnhofstrasse.

Perspectives

I've been to the opening of the festival Perspectives on Friday night, a nice event featuring Chanteuse Effi as well as club music with DJs and VJs named Art Point M.
They played in the Quartier Eurobahnhof, old abandoned buildings on the site of the train station. Cool location with a great decoration there...

Circus

This large circus tent was built during the last days in front of the Staatstheater.
The circus show is part of the French-German festival Perspectives, that is held in Saarbrücken from June 8th to 16th.

Wet Night Downtown

The weather is incredibly sunny and beautiful again, apart from occasional rain showers.
This was one of tonight, a really heavy and really short one that I enjoyed a lot...

Alte Feuerwache

This great building used to be a fire station (hence the name: Alte Feuerwache means Old Fire Station). It is now used as a theatre with a maximum of 240 seats.

Welcome ICE/TGV!

On June 10th, the ICE (or TGV), the fastest train around, will be in service in Saarbrücken, taking us to Paris in less than 2 hours. =)

Electronic Dragonfly

I visited a friend's birthday brunch yesterday - he got the coolest present from his guests: an electronic dragonfly.
You can control it with a remote control, and some of us actually managed to be pretty good dragonfly pilots. =)

Castle and Fountain

This is our nice Saarbrücken castle. In front of it there's this gorgeous fountain that I really like.
The perspective I chose is probably one of the most used here. =)

Theme Day: The View from My Bedroom

This month's theme days is to take a picture out of our bedroom windows.
I'm living on the ground floor, so my view is anything else than spectacular. I see the opposite house and our small street with many many parked cars. =)
Oh, and there's three trees in my street. I'm happy to have one of them right in front of my flat.
