I was walking along campus, and there I saw this amazing pink plant.
Since I don't know a lot about botany, I thought maybe you could help me? Lots of you take nice pictures of plants in their garden and the wild, so it might be it came across one of these fellows already.

hmmm this is definitely an interesting looking plant. I thought it was this certain plant but I did a google and it is not so I guess now I don't know what it is =P
I'll email certain peeps and c if they know =)
What an interesting plant! Please tell us when you find out Kala. Couldn't find anything about hairy berry looking plants online apart from the Rambutan fruit.
I don't know what it is either but I like it! Love the pom-poms.
wow cristina did a great job of identifying the plant - and very interesting tool - I hope you werent nibbling on it while awaiting an answer - I guess if youre reading this than you have not been poisoned =)
Brilliant cristina, thank you so much for your research!
Oh, I didn't know the plant is so dangerous, I hope that everyone will stay away from it, too... like I said, I've never seen this plant before so I don't know if people know about the dangers.
Maybe it's because of the heat (it gets hotter and hotter here every year) that such tropical plants grow here.
Anyway, thank you very much for your great effort!
En français, la plante porte le nom de ricin. Les graines (de couleur rouge me semble-t-il) sont en effet toxiques.
I used to have such a plant in my parents' garden. The French name is "ricin". The seeds (red-coloured) are toxic.
