You can see several canoes, kayaks or small boats on the river, since the number of big ships going along the Saar is basically zero. When the weather is nice, you can rent small paddle boats at Staden to try it out yourselves.

That is so weird! That is a Hawaiian style outrigger one person canoe! I have one like it!!! I am so surprised how these hawaiian water crafts are spreading throughout the world - there is a guy in Italy also making these one person canoes. Crazy! I had to click on this pic to get a closer view. This is very kewl - beyond Mario Brothers kewl!
Kisses for that!
This looks like a Hurricane model one person canoe - and I suspect these are being made in China - there was some controversy when local manufacturers started outsourcing to China because of cheap labor and cost - great for flat waters but the word is that these may not hold up in rough hawaiian ocean swells...hate to have one break on me in the middle of the pacific ocean.

I'm glad you liked your pic Kala, and if I get kisses for it, it was definitely worth posting! =)
Yes, I think it was the first time I've seen such type of canoe in Saarbrücken, though I've seen some somewhere else before (and on your pics of course).
Thanks for the additional information about it!!! Very interesting!
