When the sun set this morning, there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky. Pictures didn't turn out too well though... =(

The lights on the river are torch swimmers of the Saarspektakel, an annual festival. People are swimming on their backs holding the torches...

Goodbye

One last Flic Flac picture... all of the artists saying goodbye to the audience. They stand in a water bassin, and rain is pouring from the ceiling.

This gorgeous little guy was captured inside McDonalds today.
Put him an empty burger box and took him outside where he happily flew out of sight.

Number 14

Number 14 is lucky to have this gorgeous statue attached to one of the oriels... I always wanted to live in one of those old buildings... hmm, maybe one day!

Archipenko

This restaurant might not look that inviting from the outside, but I can high-higher-sooo highly recommend this restaurant called Archipenko.
They serve German cuisine and have many nice wines. They're located at the Saarland museum... make sure to make the owner tell you about the food you're eating - he knows a story about everything they serve - Wonderful atmosphere!!!

Biking Event

Saarbrücken will be the first leg for the upcoming Deutschland Tour 2007, Germany's biggest biking event. For this occasion, this flowery biker statue was set up in the middle of our town.

Diskontohochhaus

This is the so-called Diskontohochhaus that contains offices of Karstadt, a clothes shop, and a fitness studio. Hochhaus means skyscraper, it's one of the tallest buildings around.

Fountain

This fountain at Mainzer Strasse always reminds me of one of the wedding cakes with several levels. =)

Sculpture

A huge sculpture that is situated in front of the Saarland museum.
I liked the way the light was reflected...

Balloon/Ticket Giveaway

Coming out of an art gallery at St. Johanner Markt today, I was alarmed by screaming kids... I checked out what was wrong, and saw dozens of them screaming up to a window where people threw out blue and orange balloons.
Those people were radio hosts of Unser Ding and some of the hard-fought balloons contained free tickets for the Halberg Open Air that will take place on Friday.
All in all, a funny spectacle on a busy day in town... =)
