Against Flip Flops

After Danafaye's bumpy slippers-entry I found something to counter... =)
Obviously there's an underground organisation in Saarbrücken that is against the type of shoes, they put this poster on top of normal announcements downtown. Sparkler will love that, cause he hates flip flops with a passion... Maybe you can sign up to the club somewhere...?

Theres defnitely a place for various footwears and I could not imagine wearing anything else to the beach - except maybe my bare feet which I like to do from time to time - I am aware of a movement (if I can call it that) to discredit the flip flops due to their supposedly negative effects on the arches of the feet, causing the bottom of the feet to flatten. This is thought to be bad for the feet and in previous military qualifications, flat footed individuals were disallowed from service because of this stigma. Interestingly, in the late 1980's a study done by a miltary medical facility concluded that those with flat feet experienced fewer problems than those with higher arches.

The flip flops, slippas, or what ever it is called around the world, has been around for over 9000 years, spanning all cultures around the world and in every social economic class.

A business market that earns over a billion dollars every year, the feet slappers are pretty much here to stay as long as humans walk the earth - blame it on the surf culture for making them vogue here in the islands and beyond =)

Signed,
Dr. Slippas

Oh, Dr. Slippas in person... what an honour! Thank you so very much for stopping by my little unimportant blog and thank you for the intersting shoe-information.
I promise to worship the holy Flip Flop even more from now on. =)
